Another "redevelopment" involving paving of inappropriate sidewaks of inadequate dimensions, without any improvement or displacement of obstacles. In some places they are so narrow that they are unsuitable not only for handicapped but for the ablebodied as well (e.g. photos 5, 6). It was preferred to use the available space for car parking rather than for the construction of proper sidewalks (e.g. photos 1-4). Even where plenty of space was available, planting and landscaping was done in such a way as to prevent pedestrians from accessing (e.g. photos 11,1,13,14). These sidewalks cannot be used by people with disabilities, in large parts of them two wheelchairs cannot cross, and they do not comply with international or even Greek standards. It should be noted that this is the most central street of the area with shops and high commercial traffic. The euphemism of "regeneration" has wasted 2 million (the cost of a school or a small hospital) to violate the mobility rights of pedestrians and especially the most vulnerable of them (people with disabilities, older people, small children, etc.).
